The two relationships for predator and prey i got are the Mojave Rattlesnake and its prey, and a coyote and its prey. The Mojave Rattlesnake is the predator in the relationship and the rattlesnake feeds on rodents, lizards, eggs, and birds, and they would all fall under prey in the relationship. In the second relationship the coyote is the predator. The coyote kills and eats mice, rats, and ground squirrels, which are the prey in the relationship. Those are two predator/ prey relationships.
The role of predation is to keep a population from becoming overpopulated or extinct. We will use the
relationship between a bird of prey, a snake, and a mouse. If the bird of prey did not kill and eat snakes, eventually the snake population will become overpopulated. Say these snakes eat mice, well if they become over populated then the snake to mice ratio would be off. There would not be enough mice for the snakes and then eventually the mice will become extinct. That is the role of predation and how it can affect population size.
